About the Role

Fusion Media Group's Data & Analytics team is looking for an analyst focusing on story analytics (on-site and off-platform) who can access first and third party data, use statistical tools and programming languages to analyze it and tell a story with it: Interpret the data, gain insights, make recommendations in real-time to optimize existing and non-existent stories and videos to amplify their reach across all platforms, and communicate that in a clear and concise way. The real-time data analyst will spend the majority of their time integrated with the FMG Editorial teams.
Responsibilities include:
  • Access, interpret, and disseminate data in real-time to optimize distribution, consumption, engagement.
  • Create and deliver regular reporting and insights that reinforce KPIs driving consumption and engagement. 
  • Communicate complex ideas in a clear, precise, accessible way to Editorial teams.



    • Positive, results-oriented self starter with the ability to interact effectively across multiple teams and senior management
    • Ability to analyze raw data, identify trend drivers, draw conclusions and summarize actionable recommendations
    • Detail-oriented and meticulously organized, comfortable aggregating and manipulating large data sets
    • Advanced Excel  
    • Knowledge of Google Analytics/Omniture/social data 
    • Experience in SQL/R/Python a plus
    • A/B testing and optimization planning a plus



    • Bachelor’s degree; major in business, mathematics, statistics, economics, marketing preferred but all are considered
    • 2-4 years of experience with web analytics, and passion for media
